Wood products tend to have excellent properties with regard to mitigate climate change.
These favourable properties of wood are first of all due to the fact that carbon that has been incorporated in trees, remains stored; the use of wood products with long service life extends this storage.
Second, the production of wood products is usually associated with less fossil fuel consumption than the production competing products; thermal heat recovery of wood allows to further substitute for fossil fuels.

I elaborate model-based decision support tools for a favourable usage of wood and wood products, p.e. as:
Life cycle assessments to quantify substitution effects in-country and abroad
Combination of material flow analysis and product life cycle assessments for strategic decisions related to an optimized climate policy for the management of forests and wood products.
